Welcome to Induction and Early Professional Development (EPD) for teachers of Nursery, Primary, Post Primary
and Special schools. Congratulations on qualifying as a teacher and welcome to teaching in the Southern Education and Library Board (SELB).
You are embarking on a stimulating and rewarding career, which at times may be challenging but also full of opportunities for professional development. In the next 3 or more years you will be involved in professional and personal development, the first stage being Induction and the second stage being EPD. Initially, this may seem rather daunting but with advice, guidance and support from colleagues in school and CASS officers you will hopefully find each stage of professional development supportive, informative and enjoyable. Throughout Induction and EPD substitute cover is available to allow you to attend courses, receive up to date professional development, share good practice and meet other beginning teachers. Induction and EPD Registration It is compulsory that ALL Newly Qualified Teachers / Beginning Teachers participate in the Induction and Early Professional Development Programmes.
